| | Description | Randomly place the 48 picture cards face down around the game board. The youngest player begins by picking up any one of the picture cards they choose, being sure not to show it to any of the other players. This picture card shows an exact picture of an object on the game board. The other players try to guess the object by asking "yes" or "no" questions. After each question, the single playing piece is moved along the path in the mystery garden. The player who correctly guesses the object shown on the picture card keeps that card & draws another one from around the game board. Then the questions begin again. If no one has guessed the object by the time the playing piece reaches the castle, the player answering the questions keeps the picture card & draws another one & the questioning starts over. The player with the most picture cards at the end of the game wins. What Do You Learn? Recognition, association, deductive reasoning. | |

 Basic, but fun Jun 15, 2010
This is basically 20 questions...but that was a new concept to my four-year-old. He quickly grasped the right questions to ask that would narrow the options at the beginning of the game, which actually made him not want to play it more than a few times in a row because it got a little monotonous. However, we have owned the game for a year now and it still gets played fairly regularly, which definitely makes it a four-star game in my opinion!
Mystery Garden review Feb 02, 2010
I had played this game several years ago. At that time it was a one piece board that I thought was a bit bigger than the one I just bought. This new Mystery Garden is a two piece sort of puzzle type of board. It is pretty thin and will not hold up to years of playing on it. It is not exactly the quality I expected from Ravensburger. Otherwise, the concept of the game is of high quality. It promotes the development of speech, which is exactly what my grandson needs at this time.

We purchased this game when our girls were 4 and 6. They are still enjoying it a year later. Excellent quality and educational as well.

A wonderful game May 13, 2009
My child could play this at 3 and it was a welcome relief from Candyland! It's a simple, imaginative game that the whole family can enjoy.
Wonderful, simple game for preschool and up May 01, 2009
This game is simple and engrossing. It's 20 questions as another reviewer stated, which is great because I can play/ask questions with my 3 y/o while fixing dinner. Such a nice relief from Candyland! The jigsaw set up of the board is less than ideal, but doesn't take away from the imaginative simplicity of this game.
